Teresa Lucas – Community Outreach Coordinator

Teresa Lucas

Teresa R. Lucas joined Common Sense For Oregon as their Community Outreach Coordinator in June 2009.

She is a graduate of Western Oregon University with a B.S. in Business. At Western, she served in many leadership roles, and earned academic honors on the Provost’s List and the Academic Honors Award. Teresa also earned the Academic Excellence in Business and Economics Award, Excellence in Leadership and Service Scholarship Award, the Excellence in Student Leadership for the ASWOU Student Senate award, and Oregon Federation of College Republicans Member of the Year for 2008.

As part of the freshman orientation team and as a Western Student Advocate, Teresa worked within the Western and greater state community for recruitment and retention of incoming students and faculty. During her time at Western she had the opportunity to represent her school and local College Republican chapter in advertisements, radio and media spots, and on nationally syndicated talk shows.

On her campus she worked to promote student activism; co-planning charity events, and starting the annual Support Our Troops Week, Second Amendment Week and Freedom Week.

In the 2009 legislative session, Teresa worked as a legislative intern for three state representatives: the Honorable Rep. Olson (R-Albany), Rep. Thatcher (R-Keizer), and Rep. Kennemer (R-Oregon City).

Teresa enjoys singing, target practice, shopping, fishing and spending time with her family and friends.
